Celebrating Mental Health Awareness Month

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and it presents an excellent opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of addressing mental health in schools. Adolescents, in particular, are susceptible to mental health challenges, and prioritizing their well-being is crucial.

DBT In Schools, LLC offers comprehensive training and consultation to implement Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) in schools. Our approach is designed to provide a comprehensive approach to mental health in schools, from the DBT STEPS-A SEL Curriculum to School-Based DBT (SB-DBT).

Our DBT STEPS-A SEL Curriculum is an evidence-based program that provides a universal approach to teaching emotion regulation skills and coping strategies to middle and high school students aged between 12 and 19 years old. It is divided into four main modules of skills: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. These skills align with the five CASEL competencies, providing students with the necessary skills to cope with the challenges they face and reach their full potential.

At DBT In Schools, LLC, we understand the importance of addressing mental health challenges in schools to create healthy and successful students. We offer ongoing virtual and onsite consultation to schools and individuals worldwide that are implementing DBT in schools. Our approach is rooted in Social Emotional Learning, which teaches students coping strategies and decision-making skills that focus on their mental well-being.

During Mental Health Awareness Month, we encourage schools and educators to prioritize mental health and well-being in their classrooms. By implementing evidence-based approaches such as DBT STEPS-A, schools can help students build the skills they need to manage their emotions, build resilience, and achieve success in all areas of their lives.

At DBT In Schools, LLC, we believe that implementing DBT in schools is essential for creating healthy, successful students who are equipped to manage the challenges they face. If you're interested in learning more about our approach to mental health in education, we have available trainings. Together, we can make a difference in the live
